About this Resort:
It is confusing but there are four Westin properties in Ka'anapali.
First, there is the Westin Maui Hotel and Spa. This is a Hotel and is located about 1/4 mile south of Black Rock on Ka'anapali beach and about a mile from the condo.
Second, there are two Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas. One is referred to as 'the original' or 'South' and the other one is referred to as the 'North'.
This listing is for the SOUTH property.
Both of these properties sit together on one large parcel of land about 1/4 mile North of Black Rock (in the opposite direction from the Westin hotel). All facilities at each of the condos are available to the other. The only thing you cannot do while staying at the condo is use the Westin Hotel pool. The Hotel guests cannot use the condo pools either. At this condo, there are a total of 4 pools, multiple hot tubs and the kids pirate ship everyone talks about. There is also a waterslide. Both properties are right on the beach. You do have charging privileges for food, etc at the Westin Hotel and there is a shuttle that runs between the hotel and the condo (and downtown Lahaina too). Finally, and not to confuse things, but the Sheraton Maui, another Starwood Hotel, situated in front of Black Rock, plays to all the same rules as the Westin Maui Hotel and spa.
Third, there is a new property just north of the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas North, called The Westin Nanea Ocean Villas. All the same policies apply to this resort.
Ka'anapali is located beneath the West Maui Mountains and is right on Ka'anapali Beach which is consistently rated as the best beach in the world!
